Fleet and Purchasing Assistant Hybrid role - working from home and our office in Maryport Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw) c£30,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan Home, a place where you belong We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Home Group Repairs Service as Fleet and Purchasing Assistant, supporting us to deliver a reliable repairs service across the North Lakes in Cumbria. You’ll be responsible for the purchasing of materials and plant required by our trades team as well as assisting in the ongoing maintenance of our fleet vehicles, working alongside our Maintenance Managers, Supervisors and Buyers. If you fancy working alongside a brilliant team and to continue developing your own career as you grow with us, then read on… Typical day as Fleet and Purchasing Assistant Ensuring our North West fleet are fully operational at all times, monitoring closely all servicing and maintenance requirements and ensuring smart scheduling of vehicle maintenance to minimise downtime. Purchasing general supplies, materials, plant tools and maintaining van stock levels. Ensuring all fleet drivers are DVLA compliant with a positive safety culture across the team. Monitoring fuel spend and correct use of fuel cards. Coordinating waste management through skip hire services and removal of waste. Supporting our national Fleet and Purchasing Manager to deliver a high performing fleet through fuel efficiencies, travel considerations and minimising environmental impact. You have Experience and knowledge of organising fleet maintenance, purchasing materials and plant. A skilled influencer and negotiator, able to work effectively with colleagues and third-party suppliers building strong working relationships. Good computer skills, including using Microsoft office and online systems in order to keep fleet, materials and stock records updated correctly. Have creative spark, able to think.
