The Maintenance Intern is an entry-level, or, junior Maintenance Associate who works alongside experienced Maintenance Mechanics (Technicians). The Maintenance Intern will have the opportunity to observe and participate in multiple projects (or one large project with diversity of work). A mentor will be assigned who is a Manager or experienced Mechanic (Technician) on the Maintenance Team. This mentor will have the primary responsibility for planning the Maintenance Intern s day-to-day workload and for the intern and will oversee performance. They will also help connect the dots that exist between your technical education and the factory floor. This is important since our Maintenance Interns are enrolled students pursuing a degree or certificate in an electrical or mechanical type program, and who are able to work at least 16 hours per week as an intern.Mechanical support for the safe installation, assembly, and repair of machines, safety systems, mechanical drive mechanisms and associated parts.Provide support for fabrication of various metals and welding (mig, tig, AC/DC, torch, brazing, etc).Support corporate and division Engineering and IT personnel with maintenance and installation of plant and corporate initiatives.Adhere to all Safety and NPPC manufacturing systems guidelines.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDWillingness to enroll into a technical program full timeThe approximate hourly pay for this position is between $23.11 and $31.93 an hour. The pay progression plan once you complete the program follows: Maintenance Rate C $31.93, Maintenance Rate B $39.59, and Maintenance Rate A $41.50. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
