Child and Family Focus Outpatient Internship Are you looking to explore a career in the behavioral health field? Child and Family Focus may be the right fit for you! Internship Overview: Child and Family Focus is looking for interns for our Outpatient Office Assistance Program for Summer/Fall 2024! We provide a robust internship program where you will gain valuable experience in the mental health and behavioral health field. W e require that you are receiving course/credit hours to intern with Child and Family Focus. We will partner with your university to fulfill any internship or practicum requirements. Child and Family Focus is a nonprofit agency that provides office/community based, trauma informed services for children & adolescents (ages 3-18) and transitional aged adults (ages 18-30). We do not offer virtual or remote internships. Internship Summary: Programs with Bachelor's Level Internships Outpatient Administrative Office - Hatboro, PA Case Management - Broomall or Willow Grove, PA Respite Services - Willow Grove, PA Intensive Behavioral Health Services - Audubon, PA Internship Competency Skills: Greet, assist and direct all clients and visitors Check for co-pays and consents that need to be signed Assign documents in fax queue Call clients and families as requested Respond to incoming telephone calls, including the scheduling of intake assessments appointments and initial psychiatric evaluations Provide support/assistance to the staff on assigned client days including vital screenings and schedule management Ensure client charts are in compliance with program regulations and agency standards Collect and manage copays for clients with commercial insurance plans and document as needed Track administrative responsibilities for therapists (treatment plans, releases/consents, etc) Coordinate and assist with client pharmacological needs (call pharmacies, etc) Take referrals for therapy and medication management Notify therapists of cancellations and messages via email Complete new client charts, intake packets, spreadsheets and additions to electronic medical systems Prep consent/release packets for clients who will be expiring the month prior to expiration Write encounters and pull charts for therapists and all other psychiatric staff the day before the appointment Update consent and release spreadsheet to ensure that it is up to date and add new patients once scheduled Travel to client homes or community settings for sessions Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma and cu rrently enrolled in a university bachelors level program Current child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks & attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Benefits: No benefits offered We provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, gender identity, or genetics.
