Research Associate Department: 367001XXXX SW Research Ext Cntr Garden Cy Job no: 516678 Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Term) Location: Colby, Kansas, Garden City, Kansas Worksite: On-site requirement Categories: Agriculture, Research / Scientific / Grants, Crop Production, Agronomy, Plant Sciences Pay Grade: 08B About This Role: This position will conduct irrigation research and extension activities at the Southwest Research Extension Center in Garden City or Colby as well as the surrounding area. The candidate will maintain and operate precision equipment/machinery and irrigation systems; install, calibrate, and maintain research instrumentation; plan, manage, and document research projects; coordinate and interact with producers and industry representatives; and assist in outreach efforts. What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications: Requires a master's degree and two years relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with precision agricultural equipment, technologies, and software. Experience in irrigated agriculture, including managing irrigation systems. Other Requirements: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
