Lycoming College is hiring part-time Public Safety Officers! Lycoming College seeks applications for part-time casual Public Safety Officers. Public Safety Officers are professionals who are dedicated and committed to providing safety for all students, faculty / staff and guests on campus. Maintaining building security Enforcing college policies and regulations Responding to various types of emergencies Responsible for parking and traffic control. Valid PA driver’s license and good driving record are required. What are we looking for? High school diploma required; prior applicable experience in security and/or working for a college preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to work and interact with diverse groups of people, and computer experience required. Preferred candidates should possess background and experience in security and have had experience working in or living on a residential college campus. Physical requirements include walking through all campus buildings and apartments including ascending and descending stairways in all weather conditions. Certain job tasks may require bending, reaching, pushing/pulling and reaching above and below shoulder height. What We Offer! The position starts at $15.00 / hour with a retention bonus in place of $0.50 / hour increase after 6 months of employment, and $1 / hour increase again after 1 year of employment! The hours for this position would mainly be evenings and weekends for coverage at sporting events, and varied shifts for the department. Employee Perks: 15% discount at the campus bookstore, excluding textbooks and snacks. Reduced rates for meal packages for on-campus dining facilities.
