Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.Summary:Do you have a passion for acute care? Are you looking for a dynamic, fast-paced environment to foster your clinical skills? The MRH acute care rehab department has an opening for physical therapist. This position will serve the acute care population at Memorial Regional Hospital consisting of ortho, neuro, multi trauma, cardiac and general diagnosis. -Evaluates and treats patient populations for physical therapy needs.Responsibilities:Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support resources.Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient and family.Supervises activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.Plans or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.Competencies:ACCOUNTABILITY, CLINICAL POLICIES AND STANDARDS, CUSTOMER SERVICE, DOCUMENTATION, EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE, PROBLEM SOLVING, RESPONDING TO CHANGE, STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOREducation and Certification Requirements:Accredited Program: Physical Therapy (Required)BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Physical Therapist License (PT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)Additional Job Information:Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
