Inspector/Programmer C- CMM

Description: Follow general instructions, complex drawings, machine manuals, special instructions, and standard inspection methods and procedures for selection of characteristics required for CMM inspection.Employ CMM or other electronic measuring tools to perform simple part layoutWork with Working Leader and Inspector/Programmer A/B to perform complex 3D part layout and using basic CMM programming softwareReview part drawings for specifications, select starting points, and correlate with Manufacturing Engineering on more difficult inspection and any required validation. Make all necessary mathematical calculations, use coordinate measuring machine and precision measuring equipment such as surface plate, rotary head, etc..., to perform first-piece inspection on a variety of parts and to verify programs for inspection use.Responsible for recognizing when coordinate measuring equipment is in need of repair and for coordinating periodic maintenance. Occasionally advise and work with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and vendor representatives concerning discrepancies of parts not meeting required specifications and quality control standards. Finalize inspection results and complete all paperwork as required.Perform other related inspection duties as directed and refer only unusual or recurring problems to Inspector/Programmer A/B, Working Leader, or Supervisor. Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.#sikorskyopsDC Basic Qualifications: Requires a well-rounded knowledge of inspection methods and procedures, layout methods and the use of coordinate measuring machine and associated precision equipment. Ability to use advanced shop mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry and interpret complex part drawings and specifications. Experience 3-to-4 years. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
