Certification Manager Certification Department of Gaming gaming.az.gov Job Location:Address: 100 N. 15th Avenue, Suite 202 Phoenix, AZ 85007 Posting Details:Salary: $83,000 - $89,000Grade: 26Official Classification Title: Program Administrator 3Closing Date: 3/4/2024Job Summary:The Certification Manager directs the daily operations of the Certification section, which includes gaming vendor and casino employee certification, and Event Wager/Fantasy Sports licensing. Oversees the Intake process, Financial Investigations, and Background Investigations to determine suitability for the issuance of State Certification and/or licensure and subsequent renewal of State Certification and/or licensure.Additionally, the manager reviews and approves all investigations relating to the issuance of denial, suspension or revocation of State Certification and/or licensure; works closely with Tribal regulators and other regulatory jurisdictions and law enforcement entities concerning vendors and principals of companies, casino and event wagering and fantasy sports employees, and represents the Agency before the Tribal Gaming Commissions regarding vendor and employee investigations, certification and agency procedures; reviews and approves findings of the Compliance Auditors assigned to conduct compliance reviews; informs the Tribal Gaming Offices of compliance findings, assists the Tribal Gaming Offices with investigations and provides other requested services to ensure proper compliance with the gaming compact. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Job Duties: Develops and recommends unit policy regarding vendor, casino employee, and event wagering/fantasy sports background investigations, supervises staff of AZPOST special agents, non-sworn agents, financial Investigators and oversees investigations of complex cases and Tribal Gaming licensing investigations. Manages the Records Section in support of proper records management and maintenance of application forms and correspondence files, including establishing policies and procedures for the unit. Manages section supervisors, evaluates, develops, training, and provides guidance and technical expertise to subordinate staff to achieve optimal levels of performance. Maintains professional relationships with coworkers, immediate staff, casino and Tribal government employees, Event Wagering Facility employees as well as, but not limited to, law enforcement agencies and regulatory agencies. Assists Tribal Gaming Offices with investigations. Represents the Agency before the Tribal Gaming Commissions regarding vendor and employee investigations, certification and agency procedures; reviews and approves findings of compliance reviews. Ensures proper compliance with the gaming compact. Selective Preference(s): Five (5) years of experience in law enforcement and administrative investigations or five (5) years of experience at the Arizona Department of Gaming. Three (3) years of supervisory experience in law enforcement or similar environment. Any combination of training and experience that meet the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs); Typical ways KSAs are obtained may include but are not limited to: relevant degree from an accredited college or university, coursework and work experience to the assignment.Pre-Employment Requirements:Candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal history investigation. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
