This is an hourly position up to 29 hours per week.About the Position:The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Project Management, AV (Audio Visual) Design or Engineering, or a related field. Work will be performed primarily at our Fairfax, Va campus but may expand to our Arlington, Va, and Prince William, Va offices. Pay is commensurate with experience (minimum $17/hr). Our close-knit team is excited to welcome the talented applicant and grow our team together!Responsibilities:The Senior Learning Space Design (LSD) Assistant will provide the following (but not limited to): * Assist the Engineer/Project Managers with tasks related to audio visual projects supporting George Mason classrooms, labs, and various informal learning spaces, including tasks requiring networking skills; * Assist engineers and project managers with tasks related to the planning and installation of audio-visual system installations across three campuses; * Support in all phases of the project management life cycle; and * Assist in documentation of equipment receipts and tracking of inventory. Required Qualifications: * In depth and broad knowledge of computing technologies, audio-visual equipment, video conferencing technologies, and audio-visual control systems; * Ability to learn new technologies and skills; * Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; * Demonstrated organizational and management skills; * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and * Ability to work cohesively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of networking basics; and * Experience supporting audio visual installations.
