Job Overview: Sanford Federal is in the process of recruiting an Otolaryngologist. The objective of thisacquisition is to provide Board certified Otolaryngology physician who can performclinical Otolaryngology services, including, but not limited to: Clinic and Surgical Care ,OperativeServices, Intraoperative Follow-up ,Consultative services, Medications and Discharge education. Job Details :• Job Title: Otolaryngologist• Location: The VAMC 2501 W 22nd St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105• Schedule: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm: Tuesdays and Fridays for clinics, emergent services, andafter-hours consultations.-Tuesday and Friday Mornings will be used for surgery and afternoons for clinic.-Emergent service is for emergent medical conditions: approximately 10 hours annually.-After-hour phone consults: approximately 80 hours annually.• Type: Part-time Duties and Responsibilities: • Be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries in the clinic or operating room at thescheduled start time.• Typical surgical procedures include, but are not limited to: Sinus Surgery, Head/Neck cancerremoval, Panendoscopy , Tonsillectomy, Septoplasty, Rhinoplasty, and Laryngoscopy.• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in theclinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.• Follow all established medication policies and procedures.• Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next caresetting for all Otolaryngology clinical or surgical patients. Qualifications: • License to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or theDistrict of Columbia). All licenses shall full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, butwho have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarilysurrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered.• Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and be currently certified in BasicLife Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.• Verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educationalhistory.• Provide copies of current CMEs.• Completed the following courses. -Active Threat Training, Annually, 30 Minutes -Government Ethics, Annually, 30 Minutes -Hospice and Palliative Care for VA Clinicians, Annually, 30 Minutes -Military Sexual Trauma (MST) for Medical Providers, Annually, 30 Minutes -Moderate Sedation In- Service Training, Annually, 30 Minutes -Prevention of Workplace Harassment/No Fear Act, Annually, 30 Minutes -Ensuring Correct Surgery & Invasive Procedures and VHA Directive, One Time, 30 Minutes -VA Core Values Training (ICARE Recommitment), Annually, 30 Minutes -VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behavior, Annually, 30 Minutes -VHA Privacy and HIPAA Focused Training, Annually, 30 Minutes -ACLS/BLS, Annually -Patient Safety, Annually, 30 Minutes -Patient Rights, Annually, 30 Minutes -Patient Abuse, Annually, 30 Minutes -Prevention/Management of Disruptive Behavior/Violence Prevention Level I, Annually, 30 Minutes -Suicide Prevention: Suicide Risk Management Training for Clinicians, Annually, 30 Minutes -SUX Infection Control and Blood Borne Pathogens, Annually, 30 Minutes -EHR, Annually, 2 Hours -VISTA Imaging, One Time, 30 Minutes -V23 Annual Radiation Safety and Fluoroscopy Refresher Training, Annually, 30 Minutes Requirements: Provide proof of the following tests: - TUBERCULOSIS TESTING : Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA) A negative chest radiographic report for active tuberculosis shall be provided in cases of positive TST or IGRA results. - MEASLES, MUMPS, & RUBELLA TESTIN. - VARICELL. - ACELLULAR PERTUSSIS:1 dose of Tdap vaccination - INFLUENZA: In case of a medical contraindication to the vaccine, wearing a mask is required during the Influenza season. - Hepatitis B vaccination series and hepatitis B surface antigen test results following the hepatitis B vaccination series. - National Provider Identifier (NPI). - DEA certificate.
