Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an Accountant 2/3 to join our team in Rocket Center, WV just outside of Cumberland, MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. Location: Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Position Summary: Process journal entries and other transactions to support financials. Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations Manage and perform tasks associated with fixed assets and depreciation Support the company in ensuring financials are correctly reported Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close Assist Financial Shared Services (FSS) with reconciliations and account analysis Support government and internal audits Assist with labor and pay processing The level hired to is based on qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications: Accountant (Level 2) This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 7 or more years of finance experience. Will also consider a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (will be verified) and 3 years of experience or a master's degree with 1 year of experience Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and data bases (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point) Ability to extract, compile, document and analyze data Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Must be able to work onsite in Rocket Center, WV Principal Accountant (Level 3) This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 10 or more years of finance experience. Will also consider a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (will be verified) and 6 years of experience or a master's degree with 4 year of experience Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and data bases (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point) Ability to extract, compile, document and analyze data Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree preferred with degree in Business Administration or Accounting highly preferred Analytical Skills Presentation skills Organizational/Time Management skills and ability to multi task Self-motivated and works well in team environment Experience with EVMS Salary Range: $56,600 - $85,000 Salary Range 2: $69,600 - $104,400The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
