You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The Controllers Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth. This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of variance analysis, financial statement risk identification, and issue resolution.Prepare and review accounting-related activities, such as journal entries and reconciliations, and support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadershipEnsure accounting and reporting practices and documentation are performed in accordance with corporate policies and proceduresPerform periodic analysis and reporting of financial performance for stakeholders and management within necessary deadlinesRespond to requests from other departments and perform researchParticipate in key corporate projects such as technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiativesCollaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changesProvide ad hoc analysis to managementProvide support for audit, risk and compliance groups when necessary Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 3 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, finance, or a combinationAt least 3 years of experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office products, or a combination Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseAt least 5 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or Finance, or a combinationAt least 2 years of experience in Tableau, Python, or SQL, or a combination At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
