Job description Our client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer. The suitable candidate will be responsible for: Designing and drafting mechanical products and systems using solid works. Fully responsible for the change management and the whole product data management process. To support with technical validations of their designs by working with the manufacturing engineers. Design, develop, verify and maintain whole machine 3D models and modification to existing designs to keep in line with current legislation, improvement and cost reduction. Apply DFM techniques in support of manufacturing Snorkel products. Manage CAD data within the solid works PDM environment. Prepare drawings and diagrams for hydraulic devices and installations. Selection of appropriate materials and material treatments for safety critical steel fabrications and pinned joints. Support in the creation of technical construction files to provide evidence that MEWPS have been designed and type verified for compliance with EN280 and the machinery directive. Design and specify hydraulic drive and control systems for MEWPS. Experience: Experience of designing mechanical structures using welded fabricated steel members, cast members and bushed and pinned joints. Experience of 3D modelling using solidworks. Experience of material selection for mechanical structures as above. Experience of creating drawings from CAD within solidworks. Experience of preparing technical construction files for construction equipment. Experience of working with Notified Bodies to achieve machinery directive compliance. Experience of designing hydraulic control and drive systems. Candidates must have: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, control systems engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 Years experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
