About the Position: Payroll Administrator The Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for the organization. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position is primarily responsible for data entry, payroll processing, and generating various payroll reports. The Payroll Administrator collects and reviews employee timecards, prepares detailed labor reports, and ensures compliance with payroll regulations and contract requirements. Key Responsibilities: Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time. Collect, review, and ensure the accuracy of employee timecards. Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions. Prepare and distribute detailed labor reports, including overtime, leave, and retirement contributions. Process certified payroll reporting and other payroll-related reports for contract compliance. Prepare monthly union reports according to union agreements and regulations. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salary changes, deductions, and withholding allowances. Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate employee data and financial reporting. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations. Assist with payroll-related inquiries and provide timely, accurate information. Support employee onboarding and offboarding as needed. Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. 3-5 years of payroll administration experience, ideally in a unionized construction industry environment. Proficiency in payroll processing software, such as Foundation, NOVAtime, or similar systems. Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills for interaction with employees and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality. Physical Activities and Work Environment Regularly required to sit, stand, move, walk, handle objects, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 25 pounds. Close visual acuity required, which may be met by corrective eyewear. Work generally requires 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday, in the company’s main office.
