If so, we’d love to hear from you! Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Payroll & Leave Administrator to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This role offers a primarily remote work arrangement, with a commitment to being on-site at our Germantown, NY location one day per week. We prefer candidates who reside in close proximity to our Germantown site for ease of accessibility. The Pay Range : $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of the range is not always likely to be offered. The Role: The Payroll & Leave Administrator at Taconic is tasked with managing weekly payroll processing and reporting for US employees, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies. This role involves overseeing HRIS data entry, maintaining accurate employee documentation, and managing leave and ADA accommodation requests in alignment with relevant guidelines. As a key member of the Human Resources team, the Administrator supports a team of the best problem solvers within the animal model industry, ensuring accurate processing, communication, and reporting of payroll and leave activities. Core Responsibilities: PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR Administer weekly US payroll in accordance with approved policies and applicable law. Ensure timely and accurate processing based on an established schedule. Review and approve weekly timesheets and communicate with supervisors to resolve any discrepancies. Process other forms of compensation through the year (e.g., manual checks, quarterly sales commissions, merit increases, annual bonuses, and severance pay) Ensure benefit deductions, retirement contributions, and other fringe benefits are entered correctly. Ensure compliance with rules and regulations as they relate to payroll processing (e.g., wage garnishments, tax withholdings, paid family leave, PTO payouts, meal breaks, etc.) Assist with completion of any required state, local, or federal tax filings and payments (e.g., 941, W2, state income tax, unemployment tax, etc.). Ensure employee data within ADP is complete and accurate. Primary contact for employees, supervisors, and managers for payroll-related questions Prepares reports as scheduled or requested by management. Document HR/Payroll procedures to ensure uniform practices. Recommend process improvements to maximize HR productivity and efficiency. Assists in completion of routine administrative duties such as employment verifications, wage histories, and other misc. projects. LEAVE ADMINISTRATOR Administer and support leave of absence programs (sick leave, accident leave, short/long term disability, FMLA, state specific disability and paid family leave, workers comp). Communicates with employees regarding their need for leave and/or work accommodations. Ensures employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice requirements to qualify and take leave. Monitors and tracks absence status, documentation and return to work dates. Advises supervisors and managers of leave polices and state laws. Assists supervisors and managers in developing modified work schedules or other accommodations for returning from leave. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level. Finance, accounting, business courses or specific degrees preferred. 2+ years of relevant experience required. ADP knowledge preferred. Experience in payroll or accounting. Some HR knowledge preferred. Basic knowledge of FMLA, disability, ADA, HIPAA, state disability and paid family leave laws. Possess excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, internal and external. Ability to actively listen and understand information presented by people with different communication styles and different points of view. Travel: Travel onsite to the Germantown, NY location 1 day per week.
