Equipped with an array of skills in data science, engineering, and analytics, this team orchestrates the flow of data across our growing company while ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security. With a relentless focus on innovation and efficiency, Workmates in EDS enable the transformation of complex data sets into actionable insights that fuel strategic decisions and position Workday at the forefront of the technology industry.EDS is a global team distributed across the U.S., India and Canada. About the Role Join a pioneering organization at the forefront of technological advancement, dedicated to leveraging data-driven insights to transform industries and drive innovation. Workday is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of DataOps to lead and innovate our data operations strategy. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of our data operations which includes monitoring, support, quality assurance and change control with the overall mission of ensuring seamless data integration, quality, and accessibility across the organization. About You Responsibilities The incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:Strategy Development: Devise and execute a comprehensive DataOps strategy aligned with business objectives, driving efficiency, scalability, and agility in data operations.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of DataOps professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of data pipelines, storage systems, integration tools, data science and analytics tools, etc. while optimizing for performance and reliability, and ensuring data quality.Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Engineering, and Enterprise Data & Analytics, to align DataOps initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.Technology Evaluation & Implementation: Identify, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge technologies and tools that enhance DataOps capabilities, staying abreast of industry best practices.Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor DataOps performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with data operations, ensuring proactive measures are in place to safeguard data assets. Business Qualifications BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Technology, or related field (advanced degree preferred).15+ years of experience in data management with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity focused on DataOps. Other Qualifications Expertise in data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and familiarity with modern DataOps tools (e.g., Airflow, Kafka, Git, Jenkins, etc.).Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams, with exceptional communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to drive innovation and efficiency in DataOps processes.Understanding of business needs and the ability to align DataOps initiatives with organizational objectives.Join us in our mission to harness the power of data to revolutionize our organizational journey and drive meaningful innovation.
