Job Purpose This critical position works closely with all functional leads to help drive manufacturing cost performance target achievement for two manufacturing facilities within Dana Canada corp. located in Cambridge and Mount Forest Ontario. Position would act as a backup and assume responsibilities for a Plant Controller during short-term leaves of absence or vacation. Job Duties and Responsibilities Description / Requirements: This position is primarily focused on day-to-day financial reporting, performance analytics, internal controls and cost accounting and month end journal close activities. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Compilation of daily, weekly, monthly and year-end reports for operations and product group management. • Ensure compliance with U. S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes Oxley Act, which includes knowledge and assurance of adherence to Dana policies. • Provide analysis of variances against prior period, annual budget and forecast. • Assist with annual budget process encompassing accurate completion of Cost Model. • Participate in month-end close process, including balance sheet account reconciliation and quarter flux analysis. • Push continuous improvement and best practices deployment throughout the operation while validating DOS savings. • Manage fixed asset accounting and preparation of cost justification for appropriation. • Engagement.
