Job Summary: The Software Support Analyst will provide technical support to Ontario Tech students in the Technology Enriched Learning Environment (TELE). The successful candidate will require an aptitude for working with applications/systems to undertake analysis, diagnosis and resolution of technology issues for students, which may range from straightforward to more complex technical issues. They will also need to log service tickets and document solutions using Ontario Tech's information management system. Nature of work: Manager, Collaborative Technologies Administrative Computing, IT Services - Bevin Moolenschot Responsibilities/accountabilities: Assist Ontario Tech students with software related issues including installing and upgrading software, configuring systems as well as software applications. Contribute to the resolution of preassigned issues as well as issues received by email, ticket system and in person. Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution in the call ticketing system and appropriate knowledge bases. Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, end users, and unit leaders. Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been successfully resolved. Escalate unresolved issues as needed. Monitor general use workstations for functionality. backss reported issues with general use workstations. Fix or escalate to appropriate team for repair. Assist students during mid-term and final exams with computer related issues (in-class exam support). Work with other IT teams as needed. Required Skills: Self-motivated and directed. Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
