Electrical Engineer Chester, VA Direct Hire Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer for a position located in Chester, VA.Responsibilities:As an Electrical Engineer, you will spearhead Electrical Engineering activities across all phases of project development and equipment design, catering to projects of moderate size and complexity. Your role will demand full proficiency in conventional Electrical Engineering practices, with the application of independent judgment for evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard design engineering criteria. Your assignments will involve investigating multiple variables, necessitating periodic review of work conducted by less experienced engineers. * Independently lead Electrical Engineering activities throughout project lifecycle. * Demonstrate proficiency in conventional Electrical Engineering practices. * Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard design criteria. * Investigate variables and set objectives accordingly. * Provide periodic review of work by junior engineers. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. * Professional Engineer (PE) license. * Minimum 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience. * Proficient in power system modeling and analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP). * Expertise in layout, analysis, and design of electrical engineering scopes for industrial projects. * Skilled in developing electrical documentation, including specifications, drawings, schematics, and design calculations. * Familiarity with core design basis documentation (P&IDs, General Arrangements, Equipment List). * Proficient in Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Switchgear, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) design. * Capable of leading small teams and conducting quality checks on engineering work. * Ability to resolve technical design conflicts. * Proficiency in relevant computer software packages: AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, SKM/ETAP Power System Analysis. Desired Skills: * Experience in design/build projects or specialization in power systems. * Ability to obtain licenses in multiple states, if required. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Effective communication of technical concepts. * Excellent organizational and time management abilities. * Collaborative team player adept at working in fast-paced environments. Other Notes: * Minimal overnight travel to client sites, possibly once a year if needed.
