CareWell is seeking a dependable Per Diem- Radiology Technologist for our state-of-the-art urgent care facility in Warwick, RI. Our ideal candidate is friendly and has excellent communication skills and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. We re seeking a candidate that can pick up at least 3 full 12 hour shifts a months, weekends preferred. Our centers are open (7) days per week 8AM to 8PM. Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist provides a critical service to our communities, allowing us to identify problems within the patient’s body without needing to wait in an emergency department waiting room. When not performing X-Rays the Radiologic Technologist, will conduct lab call backs, lab documentation and support the center by completing key roles and duties and putting patient care skills to good use. Duties and Responsibilities: Radiologic Technologist - tasks include but are not limited to: Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies, replenish supplies onsite Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions. Prepares patient for radiological procedures. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. Running and resulting in house point of care testing (strep, mono, flu, COVID, Urine Analysis, etc) Completing 48 hour follow up calls for patients after their visit Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart. Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Prepare and/or clean examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments Conducts lab call backs and corresponding documentation Take patient histories and vital signs Prepare patient for examination and treatment Skills and Qualifications: Time management Organization Leadership Decision making Key Competencies: Critical thinking in a fast-paced environment Accuracy and strong attention to detail. Commitment to teamwork. Maintains a professional and pleasant demeanor throughout fast paced and stressful situations Education & Experience: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree. Current state ARRT license, required. Experience in urgent care/emergency room settings preferred. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have any direct reports. Work Environment: This job operates in a fast-paced urgent care/medical office setting and includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: The centers operate (7) days per week, 8AM to 8PM. Typically part-time employees will work (2) 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. Travel: There is no travel required for this position.
