The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist (Accounting) to assist with Secretariat administrative-accounting activities and with other office duties as assigned. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Specialist (Accounting) is responsible for assisting the IPHC Secretariat with administrative services and support related to our financial activities. The Administrative Specialist (Accounting) coordinates with internal teams, and external customers and vendors to facilitate accounting functions. This includes verifying accounting information with other teams, following up on invoices sent to customers, and maintaining vendor relationships. This position is also expected to maintain accounting documentation, and facilitate meetings with our accounting service provider for the organization. The position reports to the Branch Manager, Finance and Personnel Services.The IPHC is a public international organization and as such will consider applicants regardless of nationality. Non-US Citizens will be issued with a G4 VISA for work in the USA. Employment date: 1 June 2024, or sooner. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in related discipline; Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and willingness to work with fund accounting and procurement systems used internally; Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; Flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, priority-setting skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside accountants, contacts and vendors; Ability to prioritize and balance a shifting amount of workload in a deadline driven working environment; A demonstrated capacity to work with and within a diverse community; Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent data entry skills; Ability to interpret, explain, and apply rules, regulations, and policies. DESIRED Familiarity with accounts receivable and account payable preferred; Familiarity with audit procedures and preparation preferred; Familiarity with grant reporting requirements is preferred. A satisfactory background check is also a condition of employment. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary: The salary will be between US$55,417.56 and 60,956.97 in the first year with annual increases a possibility with satisfactory performance at the end of years 1 thru 4, before transitioning to a longer increment.
