POSITION DETAILSPosition SummaryThe Manager, Continuous Improvement is responsible for the planning and execution of site improvement projects (Lean & Six-Sigma) to fulfill the strategic objectives. Must have a comprehensive understanding of the Risk Assessment process. This leader will support the site by leading the Business Unit's continuous improvement through the planning and implementation of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Partners with site & group leadership to lead the transformation to a culture of operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates on Lean manufacturing, and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress for group level activities on an on-going basis.Principal Activities * Lead and Program Manage site's COS program to achieve business goals. * Fully committed and engaged with COS activities. * Responsible for regular COS assessments of facility, identifying gaps, developing solution recommendations & approvals, and creating & management of a RAIL. * Regularly communicate COS progress to both executive & senior leadership and associates. * Continuously monitor and validate appropriate COS competency exists within the site. * Regularly support & facilitate independent COS site assessments at other sites as required. * Lead the training and implementation of problem-solving methodologies, tools, and critical thinking. * Facilitate and drive the use and compliance of problem solving in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. * Align metrics to establish targets. * Translate organization strategy/direction into actions & objectives. * Regularly support and conduct Enterprise and Manufacturing Kaizen events at Corona and other sites when requested. * Mentor CI Managers at other sites when requested. Job Requirements:CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSKnowledge Skills & Abilities * Strong leadership ability and presence while working in a team matrix organization. * Positive and upbeat personality focused on driving forward even in the face of challenges. * Action and hands-on orientated focus on driving improvement and solving root cause problems in CI. * High ethical standards. Ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. * Strong analytical skills and solution-driven thinking. Able to use large amounts of data to make strategic decisions. Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting and technology. Presents numerical data effectively. * Demonstrated lean manufacturing and improvement strategy development and implementation. * Ability to communicate effectively across mediums, audiences, and situations. Includes internal and external audiences, and higher and lower company positions. Includes training and instruction. * Expert knowledge of Excel, and strong knowledge of Word, Power Point, Project, and other applicable tools Education & Experience * An undergraduate degree in Engineering, technology or science related areas required or equivalent years of experience. Certified lean required and Six Sigma green belt (or better) preferred with demonstrated project success. * 5+ years of progressive materials, manufacturing, and operations team leadership experience. Must have successfully led multiple Kaizen events within a manufacturing environment. Understanding and knowledge of industrial safety and the environment in a working environment.
