Independent Insurance Agency Bookkeeper

Description:
We are an Independent Insurance Agency looking for a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper that would like to join our growing team. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing payroll, handling accounts payable and receivable, as well as other various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial concepts, is proficient in QuickBooks Online and has experience with double entry bookkeeping. Job Requirements: Responsibilities: * Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes* Process payroll and ensure accurate calculations* Prepare and post journal entries* Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents* Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records* Generate financial reports as needed* Assist with tax preparation and filing* Manage the licensing requirements for the agency and agents* Process commission statements Requirements: * Minimum 2 years experience as bookkeeper or similar role* Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles* Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)* Excellent organizational skills* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines* Strong communication skills* Ability to navigate our Agency Management SystemThis is a Part-Time position, offering a competitive salary, benefits, and training.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $19 - $30 per hourBenefits: 401(k) Long Term Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Profit Sharing plan Experience level: 2 years Associates Degree in Accounting/Bookkeeping Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
