Cole Academy is hiring a full time Kindergarten Teacher. Must have teacher certification and endorsement. Cole Academy is Lansing's longest-standing charter school in the state of Michigan and received a charter through Central Michigan University in 1995. The Academy originated as an Early Childhood Center and over the years, gradually became a K-5 Public School. Combining a foundation of current, research-based, balanced literacy objectives and a sustained professional development direction from Teachers College at Columbia University in New York, has "raised the bar" for student achievement. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction3. Continuously evaluates students’ academic, emotional and social growth using appropriate records, and preparesongoing progress reports4. Ability to work effectively with colleagues regarding curriculum, instruction, interventions and assessment5. Follows the goals of students an IEP or 504 plan6. Maintains ongoing, multiple methods of communication with parents7. Maintains professional competence through learning activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professionallearning activities8. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated9.
