Summary A housing subsidy of up to $822 per pay period without dependents or $1,019 per pay period with dependents may be available.Recruitment, Relocation and Retention incentives may also be available. The Physician (General Surgery) position functions as a Surgeon in the Surgical Department of the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Indian Health Hospital in Crow Agency, MT. The purpose of the position is to provide surgical services for the Service Unit. Duties As a Board Certified General Surgeon in the Crow/Northern Cheyenne (CNCH) IHS Hospital, examines, diagnoses, and performs surgery where appropriate for patients with surgical conditions. Provides the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patient with surgical conditions requiring the services of a General Surgeon. Assignments involve providing major surgical operations such as, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, and other general surgical procedures, both under local and general anesthesia. Conducts ambulatory surgery clinic and Same Day Surgery. Examines, diagnoses, and treats by surgical means diseases and injuries, and on occasion assists specialists in performing specialized surgery. Provides consultation to the Crow Service Unit (CSU) medical staff on surgical operations and advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures as related to Surgery. Provides preoperative diagnostic evaluation, care, and coordination of scheduling for patients requiring operative intervention. Routine duties shall include providing medical care and public health services to individuals eligible for services provided by the IHS in homes, schools, clinics, job sites, and other community locations within the Service Unit. Board Certified in the physician's specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American OsteopathicAssociation (AOA) is a condition of employment. -OR- * Recently completed Residency program; thus Board Eligible and actively pursuing Board Certification in the Specialty to whichapplying.
