CARPENTER JOB SUMMARY: Construct, install, repair structures, accessories of wood and similar materials. Construct concrete forms. Create building framing, including partitions, joists, trusses, beams, timber stairs, window frames, door frames, and wood floors. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Measure distance from reference points, mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs and levels. Calculate angles, courses to determine vertical and horizontal alignment of courses. Assemble and fastening materials to make frameworks or prop using hand tools, wood screws, nails, dowel pins or glue. Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement. Break or cut bricks, tiles, blocks to size, using trowel edge, hammer or power saw. Remove excess mortar with trowels, hand tools, finish mortar joints with jointing tools, to obtain a uniform seal. Measure, mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools. Anchor, brace forms to make structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers. Following established safety rules, regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment. REQUIREMENTS: Good communication skills. 4 years of experience in carpentry in a construction environment. Experience working with construction equipment. Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation (OSHA 30 HRS is a plus).
