Job Duties: - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal clinical outcomes regarding quality and cost-effectiveness.- Comply with established policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain standards of care and practice in the MTF. - Conduct physical exams and health histories, administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions.- Provide health promotions, counseling, and education to patients.- Provide clinical direction or assist in the instruction of care provided by other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges or responsibilities.- Provide clinical direction to assign patient care based on assigned personnel's scope of practice and skill level. - Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react to emergency situations.- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to educate the healthcare team and inform them of plans and actions that benefit patients and the organization.- Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care when necessary.- Perform nursing services identified in the TO.- Maintain productivity levels comparable to those of other individuals performing similar services.- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities. - Practice aseptic techniques, comply with infection control guidelines, and use universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.- Function safely in emergency situations, remaining calm, informing the appropriate persons, and documenting events.- Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and take appropriate interventions. Notify the supervisor, leadership, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.- Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.- Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed.- Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patients'/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.- Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.Participate in continuing education to meet professional growth.- Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program.- Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.- Provide in-service training to clinic/ward/unit staff members and assist with providing training and/or clinical direction as applicable to supporting government HCWs (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).- Attend and participate in various meetings as directed.- Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.- Operate and manipulate automated systems such as ADS, MHS Genesis, and participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander.- Maintain the DOD email account as directed and respond to all email and voicemail communications.- Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required.Ensure all records and reports are legible and use only those abbreviations listed in local instructions.Minimum Qualifications:- Education: A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) is required.- Experience: The candidate must have at least one year of experience working with hematology/oncology patients in the last two years.- Life Support Certification: The candidate must hold a current AHA or ARC BLS certification and must possess and maintain a current Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card.- Licensure:The candidate must hold a full, current, and unrestricted nursing license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia, and must maintain a nursing license to practice in the United States of America.- Security: The candidate must have the ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.BenefitsThey offer excellent compensation and exceptional comprehensive benefits.- You will be entitled to paid vacation, paid sick time, and 11 paid federal holidays.- We provide medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as STD, LTD, and life insurance.
