Senior Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for an onsite Senior Systems Engineer! This position is located at AIS headquarters in Rome, NYIn this role, you'll play an integral role in the testing and system engineering of the SecureView - productHow You'll Succeed You'll succeed by designing, executing, and writing formal test procedures/plans across functional and security requirements.You'll participate in system, exploratory, and complex ad-hoc testingwhile also tracking bugs, issues, and improvements found throughout the lifecycleYou'll develop complex software components from initial design through testing, deployment, and releaseYour additional responsibilities will include:--- Developing content for user manuals, training materials, proposals, test plans, and technical documentation * Identifying, understanding, and providing creative solutions to advance software performanceEvaluating tasks and deliverables for technical quality, ensuring solutions are engineered in a sensible and maintainable fashion * Participating in design and architecture discussions * Utilizing and further developing test automation frameworks * Maintaining and implementing test infrastructureAuditing and verifying the work of others Who You Are You thrive at leading a small team of engineers by providing tasking, driving schedule, and accurately estimating the duration and level of effort required for tasking.You're able to decompose large and complex problems, considering external factorsand contributing to processes to improve team efficiency and practicesYou enjoy mentoring peers and providing guidance and directionYou're able to understand customers and their needs and can independently handle interactions with themYour Expertise--- You have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline---and 8 years' experience in quality/test engineering, system engineering or networking installation and administration; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. * You have 5 years of familiarity with Linux and/or Windows * You have 5 years knowledge of networking appliances * You have 2 years of understanding of industry standard tools * You have the ability to obtain/retain a Top Secret security clearance * You have the ability to travel less than 10%, as needed What Sets You Apart--- Previous experience with the SecureView product preferred * Extremely strong analytical and troubleshooting skills * IT infrastructure knowledge * Networking knowledge & troubleshooting * Penetration testing * Test case management, design & execution * Bug/issue tracking software (Jira) * Version control software (git/bitbucket) * Virtualization experience (VMWare, Xen) *Please note, position is contingent upon award selection (September 2024)--- The Impact AIS is a leading cyber and information security company supporting mission critical operations across the DoD, intelligence community, commerce and beyondOur roots trace back to the very beginnings of cybersecurity research, when a group of hackers worked around a pool table until they became profitable enough to order office furnitureThey hung a pirate flag on the wall to represent their decision to do things differentlyThose pioneers started AIS because they not only believed in the potential of the industry, but the necessity to provide the United States with the offensive and defensive capabilities needed to gain the high ground in cyber warfareDecades later, the pirate flag waves tall outside of our headquarters, and we continue to develop and envision technologies that protect our nation and our warfightersThe challenge is that there is no end in sightWe're looking for the best and brightest people to support our missionWhen you join our team, no matter your role, you'll be contributing to the security of our nation and our way of lifeThe Culture You're not just a number hereFounded in 2001, AIS is a privately-owned company committed to excellence in all facetsWe pride ourselves on offering some of the best benefits seen in the industry and ensuring our brilliant team members have exciting, challenging, and impactful work and a fun, values-driven environment to collaborate inWe celebrate the unique backgrounds and experiences of our people and encourage new ideas, innovation, and the autonomy to create the future and career they want with our supportEOE/AA Disability/Veteran US Salary Range: $109,000 - $150,000 The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experienceIn addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation#Clearance
