Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp)

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team for a temporary assignment. The Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounts payable operations, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who is available for temporary employment and can contribute to our finance team during this period. Responsibilities: Assist with processing invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Verify invoice details, including pricing, quantities, and payment terms, and resolve discrepancies as needed. Support in preparing and performing weekly or monthly check runs and electronic payments. Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving any billing discrepancies or issues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records and files. Respond to vendor inquiries and assist in resolving payment-related issues in a timely manner. Provide support with month-end closing activities, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger. Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team and other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related finance role. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (knowledge of QuickBooks, Famous, SAGE, SAP, ERP, etc. is a plus). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with vendors and internal stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
