The Director of Planning and Zoning at Ferguson Township will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Township Manager. Responsible for administering and overseeing the Township's Planning, Zoning, and Code Enforcement programs, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Township ordinances and state/federal regulations. This strategic position requires a visionary leader with an in-depth understanding of local planning processes and regulations, the ability to align diverse projects with Township goals, and proficiency in Pennsylvania's Municipalities Planning Code. Requirements for this Planning and Zoning Director POSITION Successful candidates for the Director of Planning and Zoning role at Ferguson Township must possess a Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Urban or Community Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in local planning within Pennsylvania. Proficiency in applying the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code is essential. Additionally, candidates must either hold the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification or have the ability to obtain it within one year of accepting the position, maintaining the certification throughout the tenure. Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are key attributes for success in this critical role. Get started with our team!
