Summary This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals. Responsibility for general maintenance of equipment, facility and grounds. Responsible for skilled maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Leads and trains lower-level staff; ensures facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition; and performs related work as required. Responsibilities: Performs a variety of skilled maintenance not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Lights and turns off boilers, heaters, and appliances. Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment, facilities and grounds in compliance with all plant policies and procedures Working with machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, conveyor systems, HVAC and production line equipment Reading diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications for installations Using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring devices and testing instruments Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work related to HVAC, refrigeration and electrical control systems at facilities Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings or verbal instructions. Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures Inspect and maintain lighting system throughout facility. Maintain and repair plumbing systems and variety of fixtures, including faucets, sinks, toilets, water heaters, and waste lines. Install electrical wiring and equipment, new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects, replaces and repairs wiring as needed. Complete checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures, conduct inspections and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Operate computer-based equipment which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems, as needed. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required. Responsible for providing lead direction and training to assigned staff. This classification is distinguished from Facilities Manager in that the latter has overall administrative and operational responsibility. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with four years' experience in Industrial Maintenance and a vocational training / HVAC certificate or equivalent military experiences. Experience troubleshooting principles and practices of skilled trades areas, such as, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC. Experience reading technical drawings and schematics with basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) Able to work any shift, holiday, weekends and overtime as needed. Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment Ability to communicate effectively, in oral and written form with operators, Team Leads and Engineers on workmanship, manufacturability and process/design issue. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to use a PC and email. Ability to attain and maintain a minimum of a Secret Security Clearance. Physical Demands Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate a variety of tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to distinguish colors in wiring; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator and to operate tools and equipment. Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with seven or more years' experience as an Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician engaged in facility maintenance, construction, HVAC and electrical AND a two (2) year mechanical maintenance degree OR equivalent military experiences Experience with Programmable Logic Controller, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, PLC, CNC equipment, CNC, Hydraulics, Pneumatics Certification in HVAC and Electrical with advanced knowledge of the national electric code (NEC) NGSkills Salary Range: $59,300 - $98,800The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
