Description:
Providence Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team on a PRN basis. In this role, you are an essential team member providing compassionate care and support for persons receiving hospice services. We provide services in the Lutheran Home's hospice unit, Cape and the surrounding areas. Come join us in our mission of providing dignified care at every stage of life! Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Assess and evaluate patient’s status . Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician in the physician’s plan of care. Counsel the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs. Provide health care instructions to the patient as appropriate per assessment and plan. Assist the patient with the activities of daily living and facilitates the patient’s efforts toward self-sufficiency and optional comfort care. Complete, maintain and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patient’s condition and care given. Record pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate. Communicate with the physician regarding the patient’s needs and report changes in the patient’s condition; obtains/receives physicians’ orders as required . Assist the patient and family/caregiver and other team members in providing continuity of care. Work in cooperation with the family/caregiver and hospice interdisciplinary group to meet the emotional needs of the patient and family/caregiver. Provide professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process and as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act. Education, Experience, License & Certifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri CPR certified Valid driver’s license and current car insurance Hospice experience preferred About the Lutheran Home: Since 1972, the Lutheran Home has provided the region's residents with dignified and compassionate care.
