Vermont College of Fine Arts welcomes applications for an Associate Director of Admissions position. The Associate Director is an administrative, recruitment position reporting to the Dean of Students. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties include the management and counseling of and response to all assigned program inquiries/leads while working to admissions deadlines, striving towards college-wide enrollment goals, and using outstanding customer service to recruit students into programs. Responsible for prospective student lead management. Exhibits outstanding customer service and sales skills. Engages in timely communications with prospects via phone and email, provides appropriate information and resources to assist in their decision making, and maintains detailed record of prospect communication. Writes and distributes broad-based announcements, invitations, response emails, informative communications about the program, etc. to prospective students. Attends conferences and other outreach and recruiting events to promote the program. Supports the coordination of college-wide and program open house. Schedules, organizes, and leads informational conference calls about the program. Engages in outreach campaigns to potential students to help generate a flow of applicants. Coordinates all aspects of prospective-student residency visits. Connects prospective students with program directors, faculty members, alumnx, and financial aid as needed to address specific questions about the program. Evaluates and reports on inquiry quality and engagement. Monitors application files to ensure they are complete and ready for review. Initiates efforts to make additional contact with prospective students in order to convert them to applications, and facilitates application process for prospects. Works with the programs to coordinate applications moving to the review process and to help coordinate engagement events and other opportunities for prospective students. Tracks and processes applications and maintains applicant records in Slideroom, Slate, Akero, and PowerCampus. Participates in strategic enrollment-management meetings and planning that include marketing, admissions, and enrollment. In collaboration with the admissions team, collects and analyzes data as part of ongoing assessment of admissions and enrollment program success. Serves on administrative committees dedicated to program growth and development, and other college-wide committees. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated aptitude for exceptional customer service and sales work Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in higher education, admissions, or sales An appreciation for, interest in, and curiosity about the arts and arts education Strong written and verbal communication abilities, organizational skills, and a capacity for self-starting and working independently Ability to perform complex or technical office practices and procedures and record-keeping practices Strong technology orientation, including experience with Google Apps, MS Office Suite, and social media, as well as the ability to learn and effectively use database systems Ability to engage in thoughtful and high-volume email exchanges and phone calls, as well as online events and other virtual engagement The position may include limited travel during the year and have the possibility of a remote, hybrid (remote/in-person), or in-person work arrangement For fullest consideration, please include all three of the following three items in the "Resume" field when applying: 1.
