Job Summary The Asset Management Systems Instructor will execute training programs for the enterprise asset management applications that Engineering and Maintenance uses to maintain, manage, and report on assets that E&M is responsible for inspecting and maintaining. The successful candidate for this role will report to the Director of Training for the MBTA Engineering & Maintenance division. This role will help ensure our Asset Management Systems Training Program is aligned with the Engineering & Maintenance division's Asset Management Program and Training Strategy. The Asset Management Systems Instructor will enable employees to use the applications productively and in realistic scenarios by teaching courses specific to asset management systems applications, working with department instructors to integrate the asset management systems into existing training, and assisting with troubleshooting for asset management systems applications in the field. Duties & Responsibilities Conduct training, workshops and coaching on basic through advanced topics to E&M employees and contractors using various delivery methodologies (ILT, remote, eLearning, blended approaches, etc. Support other E&M instructors in integrating asset management systems processes into their existing training. Enable users to confidently use our asset management systems desktop and mobile technology to achieve increased productivity and efficiency. Assist with asset management systems training requirements analysis and training program design. Assist in the development of training content for instructor-led training (ILT) and eLearning training and certification programs, competency matrices, training development plans, PowerPoint presentations, videos, handouts and written/practical examinations for the professional development and promotion of employees. Build & maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Asset Management Program team, to participate in discussions about application modules functionality, mobile applications, performance, etc. Serve as a liaison between students and stakeholders sharing insights and feedback for problem solving, escalation and continual improvement. Work with the Asset Management team in MBTA IT to ensure maintenance of training environments, e.g., ensuring hardware is functional and adequate, software reflects correct version and change management initiatives, configuring correct training environment/activities, assets and user accounts; ensuring training environment reflects current configuration changes. Track students' progress, competencies and assess their performance. Understand the asset data and lifecycle management core processes (e.g., system configuration, UI UX), procedures, as well as key use cases and roles. Troubleshoot the asset management systems applications/modules in the classroom and field-training locations. Analyze training-related reports/dashboards. Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and assist at emergencies, events, and/or transport crews or equipment as needed. Respond, either directly or through others, to emergencies twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner. Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees. Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the Authority including the EEO, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation policies. Perform related duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) form an accredited instruction with the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instruction, orders, signs, notices, inquiries, etc. in English. Three (3) years of experience in infrastructure maintenance, maintenance administration, or maintenance management Demonstrated effective organizational and analytical skills. The ability to evaluate and guide the performance of others in various training situations. Have excellent training and presentation skills. The ability to use Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint or database applications. The ability to pass: background screenings; a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check; and the MBTA's medical requirements, including a physical examination and drug and alcohol screening. Have excellent customer service skills The ability to provide internal and external customers with a courteous and professional experience. Have the ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations assigned or directed. Have the ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce. Preferred Experience and Skills Experience using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system), preferably an enterprise asset management system (e.g., Trapeze, Maximo, Infor, etc.). Experience with track, power, or signal infrastructure maintenance. Experience developing and delivering training in an industrial setting (or similar) Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with urgent deadlines. Great time management. Strong project management, analytical, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
