Job Description of Electrician and DER Team Coordinator Location: San Diego, CA (and 37 other cities and dioceses that host a high school of the Cristo Rey Network (CRN).) Timeframe: Immediate. Compensation: $60,000 - $100,000 commensurate to experience Benefits: Includes a company car, Tesla M3.Contact: XXXX@unitedsolarandair.com The job includes the following: Form a team of young adults (YA) that will eventually run a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) in Opportunity Zones (OZ). Prepare YA to apprentice with contractors that will build the DER by installing a Tesla Megapack and 15,000 Runergy solar panels on parking lots and roofs of schools, church halls, businesses, and homes in OZ. Lead the team to make a list of 10 prospects of new DERs in nearby OZ that it will build in the next 7 years. Lead them to imagine DERs in all 8,700 OZ in the U.S. Lead the team to make a several cash flow analyses of a DER of 1000 or more members with an average monthly utility bill of $100 (and $200). Using that as income, amortize in ten years the cost of $3,500.000 for the Megapack and solar panels, with an annual payroll of 600,000. File for grants and loans, and solicit capital gains investment. In the context of small DER co-ops of 10 or more homes, implement a home study program to supplement available training programs for electricians. Teach the Ten Principles of Cooperation and Catholic Action as Fr. Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta taught the pioneering youth of Mondragon that guided them to home study engineering and to lift a low-income district to the top 81 of Silicon Valleys of the world that today gives jobs to 70,000. Engage alumni of Catholic and non-Catholic high schools who dropped out of college and inspire them to finish with an engineering degree. Guide some to do graduate research in material science to find better and cheaper ways to catch, store, and sell solar power. Given the closest approximation to moon dust molecules, challenge youth teams to forge what could be solar panels for a lunar base. Form young adult leaders in Catholic parishes to lead Creation Care Ministries that heed the plea of Pope Francis in Laudato Si: lift the poor, heal the planet. Guide them to learn from Fr. Fernando Suarez, a Chemical Engineer who worked for an oil company in Canada before becoming a priest.
