Role: Graduate Town Planner Location: Norwich Salary: Competitive The Company The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work in either the Preston office within a multidiscipline team made up of building surveyors, architects, planners, technicians and principal designers, and will be working on projects throughout and beyond. The teams work with blue chip clients on a range of development types which include residential, industrial, commercial, education, local authority, health care and renewable energy/energy storage sectors. Full training is offered as part of the position with a view that the successful candidates seek to progress into a career in town planning. Responsibilities: Drafting planning applications. Reviewing planning policy. Undertaking site appraisals. Making planning applications. Attending planning committees. Undertaking site visits. Qualifications and skills Degree educated : we are seeking recent graduates preferably in town planning or a similar discipline, but we will consider relevant degrees such as geography, economics or urban design with a view to providing further training. IT skills including Microsoft Office. Personal attributes: Be a good communicator, dealing with our teams, clients, other professionals and contractors. Ability to work on own initiative but understand the level of responsibility within the planning team. Good organisational and time management skills. Strong work ethic, confident and adaptable to pressures of our profession. A professional manner and good interpersonal communication skills are essential. Attention to detail with good report writing skills. Salary: Highly competitive salary fully dependent on the level of experience. Other benefits25 days annual leave per annum.
