Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Shoreham and Brighton Salary: Up to GBP42,000 DOE plus car allowance/ electric company car, mileage expenses, contributory pension, training and career opportunities The Company This national building contractor have been targeting work on the South Coast and have a strong pipeline until 2025. They are in the process of growing a regional team to meet the demands of the projects. They specialise in residential led mixed use scheme either in the social housing, student accommodation or private rental markets. Typical projects around GBP5m : GBP20million in value. The Job This exciting Assistant Quantity Surveyor vacancy, will be site based and working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors. It will see you take the next step in your career working on projects ranging in values to GBP20m. It is a great opportunity to ready yourself for a Quantity Surveying position with great room for development and guidance from established professionals. Duties: Be able to assist in the preparation and submission of monthly valuations Assist with Cost Value Report (CVR) utilising the Estimators tender summary Assist in updating the CVR monthly and communicate figures to the Managing Surveyor Advise internally on cash flow forecasts as necessary Work closely, whilst shadowing, to agree contract programmes with the Project Manager and Managing Surveyor and monitor progress commercially Assist and resolve any client: related issues or disputes Review sub: contractor and Major Suppliers Commercial performance on completion of contracts, giving feedback where appropriate Person Spec/ Requirements Degree/HND qualification in quantity surveying/commercial management/construction desirable The ideal candidate will have assisted a Senior Quantity Surveyor on multiple projects or packages over GBP1m Circa 2 years experience with another reputable contractor, developer or subcontractor, shadowing their Quantity Surveyor.
