1 Drywall finisher required as soon as possible. Job details: Location: Surrey, BC V3S 0P3Salary: 27.50 hourly 35 hours per Week Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time Start date: Starts as soon as possible. Vacancies: 1 vacancy Overview Languages: English Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Work site environment: At heights, Dusty, Outdoors Work setting: Commercial, Various locations Responsibilities Tasks Supervise other workers, Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints, Clean and prepare surfaces, Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife, Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required, Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency, Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings, Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring, Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation, Prepare wall and ceiling layouts, Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Additional information Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Who can apply to this job?
