Canadian Payroll Support Clerk We are seeking a Canadian Payroll Support Clerk to work closely with fellow Administrators and the Treasury Team providing financial support and analysis for the division. The successful applicant will be working for the Corporate Business Unit. We are expanding and looking for talented, motivated, and eager people to join our dynamic company. We have one of the largest finance departments in Ottawa and offer opportunities for growth on all levels. What YOUR IMPACT WILL BE · The Payroll Support Clerk is responsible for supporting the day to day payroll operations · backssing and establishing internal controls · Evaluating current payroll operations · Offering recommendations for process improvement · Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. WHAT WILL BE YOUR NEW ROLE The role is primarily focused on assisting with the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in multiple provinces in Canada, including Quebec. · Learning all aspects of payroll, including payroll entries, new hires, T4’s, T4A’s, Relevé 1’s, T2200’s, direct deposits, salary updates, voluntary and non-voluntary deductions, garnishments, PTO, leaves of absence and terminations. · Ensuring related forms and reports are in compliance with Federal and Provincial legislation. · Reconciling differences between Work Day (HR system of Record) and Ceridian Day Force (Payroll system) to ensure the data in both are in-synch. Working with appropriate resources to correct inconsistencies. · Supporting the monthly payroll reconciliation process performed by Corporate Controllers for the various business units within Harris. · Preparing and reviewing regulatory and internal reporting · Administration of the Payroll Support tool · Wage & Tax analysis · Assisting with potential Mergers & Acquisitions by assisting with Payroll due diligence, onboarding newly acquired employees, etc. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR · A positive.
