Job Title: Company Accountant / Bookkeeper Location: Barrow-in-Furness (hybrid)Salary: £30k - £35k I am seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Company Accountant to join our finance team. The Company Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. As a key member of the finance department, the incumbent will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. Responsibilities:1. Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, and payroll transactions. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.2. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide timely and accurate financial reports to management for decision-making purposes.3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budget performance and analyse deviations, providing insights and recommendations to address any discrepancies.4. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, VAT/GST, and other applicable taxes. Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and ensure the company's compliance with relevant tax laws.5. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analyses, such as cost-benefit analysis, profitability backssments, and return on investment calculations.
