We are currently searching for a talented Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor in the Brighton area. This contractor boasts an extensive pipeline of projects in the region with there being a current need for additional commercial support on a new healthcare project. You will: As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor throughout the lifecycle of the project, based on site. You will be initially based on a GBP25m healthcare scheme which is just about to enter its second phase and there is clear scope to progress into a more senior role and grow within the regional team. There are a lot of projects in the pipeline with repeat clients to stability, progression and a strong pipeline of work. Your duties: Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting final costs and sales. Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts. Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations. Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual terms. Assist in the preparation, submission and negotiation of project final accounts. Certification of subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts. Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at the project level. Monitoring changes so as to continuously identify the status of costs. Assist in the preparation of scope of works and trade packages. What are the requirements? You must hold relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying such a degree or have come through an apprentice/trainee scheme with a contractor. You must possess strong numerical/negotiation and communication skills. Experience working with a contractor is essential with a minimum of 2 years spent in a Junior Quantity Surveyor role. All applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK.
