Our client is is a full-service CPA firm located in Markham that has been in business for over 55 years, with a team of over 70 people. They are seeking a Sr. Accountant who works efficiently without sacrificing accuracy, to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a developing accountant to use and build upon their experience! The position offers significant opportunities for growth, in both compensation and accounting skill development. Your primary responsibilities will include: · Preparation of working papers for Compilation Engagements, year-end financial statements · Government reporting (GST/HST, payroll, EHT) · Preparation of Personal & Corporate Income Tax returns · T4, T5, NR4 preparation · Communication with CRA such as, capital dividend election, CRA reviews, voluntary disclosures · Preparation of Trust returns and related distributions · Responding to clientele inquires/requests with added value · Providing advice and training to other staff members A successful candidate will have: · CPA designation (preferred, but not required, with equivalent experience) · A minimum of 5-years experience in public accounting · Strong knowledge of corporate tax and year-end preparation · Passion for an increasing knowledge base in business and taxation · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Quick Books · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Strong time-management, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities · A high level of accuracy and attention to details · Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills · Team-oriented and client-focused thinking · Honesty, integrity, promptness and ethical behavior Salary Expectation: $85,000 - $90,000 (Commensurate with experience & reviewed annually based on performance) Group Benefits package and RSP plan with company-matching is also available.
