Our client, a tier 1 national contractor is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. You will get the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects with your first one being a big GBP25m healthcare project in Eastbourne. The project involves the demolition of temporary structures, a new build facility with various wards, theatres and outpatient facilities, and the building will be connected to the existing hospital, which will involve some remodelling and refurbishment. This is a secured project currently in the early pre construction phase with main works due to start at the end of the year for circa 18 months. Role and Responsibilities: Assist with all aspects of the cost management function, including cost planning, estimating, budgeting, cost control, and value engineering. Assist with the preparation of tender documentation, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract conditions. Assist with the analysis of tender submissions and make recommendations on contractor selection. Assist with the procurement process, including the preparation of contract documentation and the administration of contracts. Provide cost advice and guidance to clients and project teams. Assist with the monitoring and reporting on project cost performance, highlighting any variances or potential risks. Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in day: to: day activities and project deliverables. Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Quantity Surveyor as required. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. At least 2 years experience in quantity surveying. Good knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost planning. Strong analytical and problem: solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
