We are working with an established specialist contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to initially manage a range of education schemes in the Southampton and Portsmouth areas The company has been established on the South Coast for over 50 years and they work on a mixture of framework opportunities and repeat negotiated business. The markets they work in are education, local authority, commercial, health care, leisure. Schemes are new build and refurb/change of use and range from GBP500k to GBP5 million in value. Your role is to successfully manage the commercial aspects of the the scheme from precon to handover and final account working as part of an established commercial team and you will report directly to the commercial director. You will normally get involved with the scheme at tender/bid stages and be expected to assist and review the estimator and bid teams and iron out any potential issues and help plan and implement a successful and profitable bid. You will be responsible for procuring the sub contract packages, arranging pre: start meetings then checking and evaluating each package and managing the day to day site activities : valuations, remeasures, payments, CVRs, reporting and forecasting.
