Sherwood Inn is hiring an Assistant General Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operation of the resort to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and financial return. Sherwood Inn is known for outstanding personalized guest service and great culinary experiences and therefore the successful candidate will have a strong background in this type of operation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads the management team to develop and implement the yearly strategic plan for the Resort. Employee Relations Analyzes Employee Survey results and develops action plans One on One meetings with the leaders to review performance, development target and departmental action plans. Monitors job performance, morale and employee turnover. Works on the floor with the team delivering guest service. Supervises the Department Managers, interviewing and hiring new employees, carrying out performance appraisals, directing the training and development of staff and carrying out performance management. Monitors purchase and labour expenses to reach desired profit levels. Guest Relations Proactively identifying special occasion and regular long term Sherwood Guests to ensure special details and recognition is communicated to all departments. Daily guest interaction by assisting at the Front Desk and doing table touches in the Restaurant Monitors and reviews all guest feedback by engaging the resort guests while on property and through social media sites and ensures challenges are addressed quickly. Reviews monthly guest comment results and takes appropriate actions. Other Complies with Resort policies and procedures. Performs other tasks as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years Hotel/Resort experience. Minimum 2 years as a Departmental Leader preferred. Hotel administration degree preferred. Able to work weekends and evenings as required.
