The candidate must have the following qualification/experience: • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; observe or monitor patients' status and document patient care on charts; administer first aid in emergency situations; collect specimens such as urine, faeces or sputum; administer catheter and perform other procedures as directed by nurses from CLSC; • Answer emergency call signals; bathe, dress and groom patients; serve meal trays; supervise patients' exercise routines, set up and provide leisure activities for patients, accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort; • Transport patients by wheelchair; • Carry messages, reports, requisitions and specimens; • Make beds, maintain and clean patients' rooms; • Maintain inventory of supplies; • May perform maintenance tasks such as assisting with the set-up, cleaning or sterilizing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, and assembling, setting-up and operating job-related equipment, like blood pressure instrument. Additional skills: Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Nursing Aid Certificate or any other certificate related to patient care. Security and Safety: Immunization records; Tuberculosis test; Criminal record check; Adult Abuse Registry check. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: • Fast-paced environment; • Physically demanding; • Manual dexterity; • Attention to detail; • Combination of sitting, standing, walking; • Standing for extended periods; • Walking; • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
