Hiring Details: Primary Manager: Director, Domestic Taxation Job Purpose: The Senior Manager, Domestic Taxation contributes to the overall success of the Global Taxation team in Canada, ensuring the fulfillment of the compliance and financial reporting functions with respect to income taxes for The Bank of Nova Scotia (legal entity) (the “Bank”). The role also assists the Director and the Vice President, Domestic Taxation as needed with eexternal acquisition and divestiture transactions, internal corporate reorganizations, tax planning initiatives and tax advisory activities as it relates to the Bank. The incumbent provides leadership and direction to, and assists in managing the development of, the Manager(s), Domestic Taxation. The Senior Manager ensures that all tax initiatives and responsibilities are executed in support of the Bank’s business strategies and objectives and that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 1. Lead and manage all aspects of Canadian direct tax compliance as it relates to the Bank: Coordinate the preparation of and complete the first review of the monthly/quarterly/annual income tax provisions and the annual Federal and provincial income and capital tax returns, including the annual provision-to-return reconciliation. Reconcile the current/deferred tax balances and consolidated tax balances where applicable on a quarterly basis using the Bank’s Longview tax provision platform. Manage and review, as needed, of the current income taxes payable and capital taxes payable accounts, including reconciling to backssments/reassessments and statement of accounts from government tax authorities. 2.
