I am working with a Tier 1 national business who need a Quantity Surveyor for a new scheme near Stroud to join the established project team to deliver the scheme. The project is a GBP10 million new build primary school, traditional build procured through the DFE framework and is due to start on site summer 2023. The company are a recognised brand with an excellent reputation for quality of delivery and can offer you brilliant working conditions, competitive salary and benefits packages, tailored career development, additional training such as Rics accreditation and local work. They operate in the framework and negotiated marketplaces and have secured turnover through til 2025, trusted and engaged supply chains and experienced people in key positions to drive the business forward. Typical schemes range from GBP10 to GBP80 million in the education, NHS, MOJ, commercial and local authority markets. Your role will initially be to procure the first and most critical subcontract packages such as groundworks, frame and the services packages and then have full commercial control of the project. You will have a qs and trainee on site and you will be expected to manage, train, develop and allocate their time and resources effectively. You will have oversight of the site accounting procedures and be expected to take a hands on role with the critical decisions. You will closely with the PM on site and set up the procedures for payments, valuations, remeasures, subcontractor engagement and pre: start meetings, chair client meetings, manage the variation account, manage CVRs and other internal reporting metrics all the way through to final account. You will report into a site based Senior QS and have the full support and backing of a national contractor.
