Purchasing Lead Waterlooville We are seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Lead/Buyer to join our manufacturing client. As the Purchasing Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing our purchasing function and ensuring efficient sourcing and procurement of project-related materials. This is a key role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Source and purchase project-related materials, ensuring high quality and competitive pricing. Maintain accurate records in the ERP system pertaining to purchasing activities. Provide material quotes and raise purchase orders from sales orders. Chase progress of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials. Source alternative products to meet customer needs. Resolve quality issues of materials in collaboration with suppliers and the QSE department. Manage new material suppliers and ensure their compliance with the approved suppliers list. Create new stock code numbers for high-usage materials. Oversee and maintain current cost pricing in the ERP database. Record supplier visits and update vendor quality records. Competencies: Demonstrates a positive attitude and attendance. Exhibits professionalism in appearance and communication. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Displays a strong work ethic, job knowledge, and attention to detail. Works well both independently and as part of a team. Shows flexibility and adaptability to change.
