This is a 100% fully remote position for one of the top 20 accounting firms in Canada. The firm’s teams are diverse, and you will work closely together – you will never be just a number at our organization. As an Intermediate Accountant you will be working on assignments under the direct supervision of a Manager, Director and a Partner for all types of assurance engagements. You will be working in a broad range of industries on a variety of engagements, including emerging industries such as cannabis, psychedelics, and gaming. You will oversee entire engagements from planning to completion, including but not limited to: · Completing and overseeing others’ work on audit files · Coaching Junior Accountants by providing input and expertise where necessary · Building effective and long lasting working relationships on assignments with operational client contacts · Provide valuable suggestions and contributions related to various assignments and projects · Perform research and prepare more complex opinions for technical conclusions on client engagements · Preparing complex areas of the file · Co-ordinating group audits with component auditors in other cities and countries · Reviewing work completed by Junior Accountant team members · Responding effectively and efficiently to client, manager and partner requests Summary of Responsibilities · Planning, execution and completion of audit files · Understanding technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision · Ability to recognize relevant accounting and audit issues from basic analysis · To facilitate successsful remote work: o High level of responsiveness to fellow team members o Access to quiet, private work space free of distractions o Very frequent use of Microsoft Teams or Zoom · Building effective working client relationships on assignments.
